Fleet & Commercial Van Repair
The ProMaster earns its spot in a lot of fleets: front-wheel drive with a low, flat load floor (about 21 inches), a tight turning radius, square walls that make upfits easy, a roomy cab, and a lower purchase price than European rivals.
Like any van, it has a few known weak spots, and the right action plan keeps them in check. We know where they are and build your maintenance around them. Maintained right, the ProMaster is a solid, cost-effective workhorse for your fleet.

The stock plastic housing cracks and warps, leaking oil and coolant down the back of the engine onto the transmission. It is often mistaken for a rear main seal. It is not if, it is when. We upgrade to a metal housing so it does not come back.
In our experience the transmission is undersized for fleet loads, and we have replaced plenty of them. Regular service is what keeps them alive.
The sub-harness under the intake heat-cycles until the copper breaks inside, while the insulation still looks perfect. That causes misfires and hard-to-find electrical faults. We replace it with an updated harness kit.
Factory (OEM) spark plugs and coils make a real difference on this engine. Cheaper parts mean comebacks.
Safety Recall
NHTSA recall 26V621 covers about 265,500 2022-2026 ProMasters. Water can get into the power steering wiring and connectors, and the van can lose power steering assist without warning, so the steering suddenly goes heavy. Check your VINs at nhtsa.gov/recalls and get the recall done as soon as parts are available. We check recall status on every ProMaster we service.

Often it is not. On ProMasters the most common cause is the plastic oil cooler and filter housing leaking down the back of the engine. Get it inspected before paying for a rear main seal.
We service fleet ProMasters every 30,000 miles. It is cheap insurance against a transmission replacement.
