Fleet & Commercial Van Repair

Ford Transit Repair & Fleet Service in Lewisville, TX

The Ford Transit is the backbone of a lot of DFW fleets: three roof heights, multiple wheelbases, the strong 3.5L EcoBoost V6, and one of the most flexible cargo setups in its class.

Like any van, the Transit has a few known weak spots, and the right action plan keeps them in check. We know where they are and build your maintenance around them. Maintained right, the Transit is a very reliable workhorse for your fleet.

Common Ford Transit Problems We Fix

Transmission shifting problems

Harsh shifts, hesitation, shudder at light throttle, or loss of reverse on the 6-speed and 10-speed automatics. We diagnose it right before anything gets replaced.

Driveshaft & PTU clunk (2015-2018)

That clunk when you accelerate or let off the gas. Early full-size Transits wear these parts prematurely.

Rear brakes wearing out fast

Heavy loads and stop-and-go routes can finish rear pads and rotors in 20,000-25,000 miles. We catch them before they score the rotors.

Electrical & low-battery problems

The body control module is sensitive to low voltage. A weak battery can cause a jumpy dash, flashing lights, and false warnings. We test the whole charging system.

Cowl & windshield water leaks

Water dripping into the engine bay can corrode ignition coil and intake bolts or soak the air filter. We check it at every service.

Ford Transit FAQ

How often should a Transit's transmission be serviced?

For delivery and heavy-load fleets, sooner than the owner's manual. We set the interval from your mileage, loads, and routes.

Why do my Transit's rear brakes wear out so fast?

Weight in the back plus constant stopping. On delivery vans rear pads can be gone in 20,000-25,000 miles, so we check them every visit.

My dash flickers and shows random warnings. Is it serious?

It often starts with low battery voltage. Have the battery and charging system tested before it turns into a no-start.

Do you service cargo and passenger Transits?

Yes, all roof heights and wheelbases.

Josh's Top Ford Transit Tips

  1. Service the transmission and drivetrain sooner. Don’t wait for 150,000 miles. On loaded, towing, or heavy-use Transits, we change the transmission, differential, and transfer case fluids every 75,000 to 80,000 miles, and service the transmission filter instead of trusting lifetime-fill claims.
  2. Stay on top of brakes and alignment. The Transit is heavy, and stop-and-go routes wear pads, rotors, and slide pins fast. Replace pads and rotors as matched sets, and rotate tires every 5,000 to 7,500 miles to catch alignment and suspension problems early.
  3. Fight carbon on the 3.5L EcoBoost. Direct-injection engines build up carbon on the intake valves, especially 2015-2019 models. Schedule a regular intake valve cleaning (GDI service), and consider premium fuel if your vans haul heavy.
